Academy Juniors FC

AJs was formed in 2008 by club chairperson Steven Watson of Superstars Coaching to offer girls in Bolton an opportunity to access an excellent football experience.  Our ethos is to offer the ‘unofficial Centre of excellence’ experience to girls of all abilities in Bolton.

3 of the first girls to experience AJs were Jemma Entwistle, Olivia Greenhalgh and Leanne Gerrick.  We are very proud that all 3 girls are still involved with the club.  Olivia and Leanne play for our Ladies team, and Jemma is the club vice-chairperson as well as coach for the Under 13s and Under 16s teams.  We now have 9 teams at the club aged from 4 years to adults.

We are an FA Charter Standard Club and our coaches are FA and UEFA qualified.  Each of our coaches has the benefit of regular mentoring to ensure that the quality of training remains high.

We strive to offer 3 hours of training to our players every week, and have a ‘football curriculum’ based on age appropriate stepping stones to develop all of our players into technically and tactically sound youth players.

We often go on team trips, and have been abroad (Berlin 2009, Barcelona 2010, Amsterdam 2011) to play against teams such as FC Union Berlin, RC Espanyol and KNVB development teams.  These trips have been amazing experiences for the girls.

We deliver community coaching in schools around Bolton, and have links with many local schools.

We are in regular contact with North West centres of excellence, to keep a clear pathway of progression open to any girls wishing to take it.  In addition to this we are also able to assist players to achieve Scholarships in the USA when they are 16-19 years old.

There is so much more we could tell you about our club, but why not come and see for yourself!?
